Supporters Groups!

We’re WPS and we’ve got them! I’m slowly coming down from my Saturday high, where I met up with 50+ Chivas USA supporters who chartered a bus and drove from LA to Santa Clara to attend the Earthquakes/Chivas game. I previously met up with them, in August, in Los Angeles, for the last Classico of 2008. And GOOD LORD those guys are so much fun. I don’t have personal experiences of hanging out with every single MLS supporters group so I can’t really say the Union Ultras are the best, but I do have the best time with this group and to anyone in LA or visiting LA and thinking of attending a MLS game, click on that link above, log into their forum, introduce yourself, and go have a super fun time! Yeah, ok, here’s a video from Saturday where I am laughing my ass off (oh yes, I am in this youtube clip) because a couple of the guys behind me jumped around, lit some fireworks, and broke the bench. Hilarity ensues. So much lolz, so little time…

So let’s bring this all back around to the subject at hand. Supporters groups! So far, I’ve found three. Are there any more? Time to let yourself be known! Here’s my list:

* Local 134 – Chicago Red Stars. Our very own Tom (yes indeed, we now have an Offsides Red Stars blog) is a member.
* Riptide – Boston Breakers. I just KNOW one of you Riptide-ers would love to write a Boston Breakers Offside blog… eventually.
* Freedom Fighters – Washington Freedom. Doesn’t look like they have a website yet but I think this organization just formed recently.

Is that it? Alright other teams. You’ve still got a few more months to develop the interest and encourage the fans to help bring the atmosphere to the games. So let’s make this happen.

  I most definitly have to echo your thoughts on the Union Ultras. They know how to have a good time and some of the most welcoming guys you’ll meet. Carlos is the man. I can’t wait to hang out with them again next year! I know it’s not wps related but I wanted to throw my two cents in.

  I didn’t watch too much of the video because it interfered with my NKOTB listening time (which is all the time) but I spied confetti!!! I’m fairly certain I still have confetti in my purse from AUGUST! I’m so jealous!

  Hi Melissa, I’m guessing you’re the one in the middle of the shot looking slightly confused! Looks like fun; unfortunately I don’t think the WPS groups will be quite as rowdy…
