(I’m going to attempt to make this a semi-regular thing although I may be pushing it if I expect to have one of these every week). Lori Chalupny works the “turf that could rival Seattle’s” runway at last night’s Puma event. I sense the Cover Girl Contract is on it’s way girl!
Also, notice Chalupny and Solo are skort-free. Yes, not all the teams modeled those controversial cloth items. And apparently, the skorts are nothing but accessories that won’t be present during the games (whew). Kristine Lilly sets us all straight in this morning’s Today Show segment which you can watch here (I wish they held out for Kathie Lee & Hoda’s hour – those b*tches are crazy). But notice in the video, Hope Solo is wearing pink tennis shoes. Nothing wrong with that. Except she mentioned during last night’s event that her goalkeeper kit will be hot pink. Her response: “It doesn’t go well with my look.” No sh*t. And all of America agrees.
In other news, Marta, Johanna Frisk, and Amy Rodriguez will preside over the NASDAQ Closing Bell today at 3:45pm EST. The video will be here. I’ve been spending some time in San Francisco’s financial district for work lately and the Fidelity building has a giant ticker with the daily stock results. All I gotta say is, that ticker has been nothing but a sea of red downward arrows. So if our players can ring in the bell and at least one arrow goes green and points upwards, I will be absolutely sure this new league is gonna make it.
