Not yet Abby

Amy Rodriguez scored the game winner against Brazil today, wrapping up the score at 1-0. Perhaps the July 16 friendly is Abby’s chance to hit 100 and the chance for the rest of us to come up with a brilliant drinking game to celebrate. So while we all wait impatiently for Wednesday’s game, here’s part 1 and part 2 of the Canada vs Brazil friendly from July 10 to tide us over. Big shout out to the Maxxed Football Forums for the links. And for those of us (including myself – whoops) who missed today’s game, I’ll post a link as soon as I find one. Four votes on The Hunt Park Insider so far…

The W-League is inching closer to this season’s playoffs. The Toronto Lady Lynx, The Ottawa Fury, and The Boston Renegades have now earned spots. But perhaps the biggest upset of the weekend was the 3-0 victory The Washington Freedom had over Jersey Sky Blue on Saturday. This was apparently Sky Blue’s first road loss in the history of the club and puts the team in third place. And the team has at least one game in hand over the other playoff contenders in their Division. Yikes, this is turning into a bit of a nail biter.

In one last piece of news, Women’s Soccer USA is reporting that the St Louis club is negotiating with Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville to use their field for WPS games next year.
