New Years Resolutions?
By: Melissa | December 30th, 2008It’s that time of the year kids! And I’ve already come up with a few. Besides the usual “eat better,” “get up earlier,” and “pick up my dog’s business every time,” I’ve also got on my list “find more bloggers to write for this fantastic-ly silly and somewhat snarky WPS site.” Seriously. I can’t be the only one out there searching the internets for that elusive video of Natasha Kai getting inked on – err – LA Ink. Or Tina Ellertson rolling around on the ground at the Home Depot Center performing her “dead worm” goal celebration. And I certainly am not alone when I say I simply must post on these series of tubes the news that our fearless leaderâ„¢ refused to meet the President after leading the WNT to gold in the Olympics. Ok, this blog probably isn’t the place for political rants but I was quite impressed with this bit of graffiti I took a picture of last week…

Anyways… moving on. The point that I am maybe or maybe not making here is we’ve got a lot of stuff to cover. For example, I had (in my mind) a brilliant idea to compare the recent WPS Combines to the Tupac & Biggie East Coast/West Coast hip-hop feuds of the 90’s. Did I do it? No. Instead, I got distracted. But my idea? Gold. You know what else is gold? Someone to write the FC Gold Pride Offside blog! Or how about St Louis Atletica? Sky Blue FC? That Philly team?
So to all the readers. Just think about it. Mull the idea over. Season starts in a few months so you’ve got time. Oh and speaking of season and time, I’d like to give a shout out to whoever put together the USWNT public Google calendar which I subscribe to and which has all the WPS games listed so far. Brilliant idea and thank you… whoever you are.
I’ll be back with a news wrap-up of sorts (Marta to LA? For reals?). But until then, everyone have a happy New Year!

Remember, Bush was a uniter, not a divider. (Remember!?!) Whereas Marta is a definitely a divider and doesn’t need more press…
