As a fan of the sport, I often find myself reading blogs completely unashamed to post somewhat gratuitous sexual content of the straight male variety. I guess this content has something to do with soccer, but I honestly can’t really complain since I ramble off-topic all the time. BUT, I can certainly add to the soccer sexy times…

I stumbled upon this animated gif last night and find it oddly erotic. I am, of course, ignoring the well documented research proving Michael Phelps is a filled with douche and merely focusing on the candy. Also, I am not lying when I say a very good friend of mine went on the Tyra Banks show and told Mizz Fierce and the tv audience she loves watching gay porn. Her episode appears on tv syndication from time to time.

So each WPS team has what we like to call “a foundation.” I’m not ready to get my panties all in a bunch over it because we are looking at 3 players on a team of 11+. Perhaps it will be time to start ranking and analyzing the teams’ picks after next week’s draft to put two international players on each team which will actually be the draft to grant each WPS team the right to negotiate with four international players. I also have a strange feeling that none of these negotiations will be made public. Anyone have any new info on this?

It also appears that the contract between WPS and the national team players association is not finalized soooo… a handful of national team players are presumably playing for specific WPS teams next year but it’s not actually really officially official yet. Ok, I’m sure the contract negotiations will be complete before April so I’m not too worried about this little snafu. But I do think Andrea Canales brings up a more important concern. So what about the other USWNT players? She specifically mentions Kacey White, Briana Scurry, India Trotter, Jenny Branam, and Amy Lepeilbet and I’m going through the WPS schedule and wondering, are they going to enter the October 6 general draft or are they going to have to wait for the February 1 individual team tryouts?

At least the intentions of one (former) USWNT stalwart, and a favorite over at this blog, have been made public. Brandi Chastain would like to play for the Bay Area team. Hell, if Kristine Lilly gets a shot with Boston, then I say give Brandi a go as well! I know the 1906 Ultras I am currently badgering on their messageboard to attend WPS games, will go apeshit if Brandi’s winds up on the roster.
