Bussing down Rt. 66. Are you scared @St. Louis Athletica? We’ve got gangsters on our team! Natalie Spilger tweeted this message & photo about two hours ago. Can’t tell if those are grillz or just shiny shiny teeth. Anyways, Natalie will be live-tweeting during the game so expect lots of lulz-y 140 characters or less messages on Sunday. And depending on the outcome, I really really hope she continues to tweet after the game because I found a hilarious 2003 article from Stanford University’s paper with a detailed account of a drunk & belligerent night her team had that resulted in Natalie getting arrested. Apparently an extremely intoxicated Natalie tried to resist arrest by informing the officers her dad was a lawyer and they were gonna get in big trouble. Shockingly, her plan did not work. So here’s to post-game celebrations and a message to Natalie: drunky typey is your friend.

I was part of a convoy of WPS fans that drove from Dallas TX to IL this weekend for the game. I wish it had been televised for my own selfish purposes, but it was exciting to see so much talent in one place. The CHI players waved to their support group after the game but didn’t seem to stick around for autographs. Hope Solo graciously signed as many as she could before some PR flack made her stop. So worth the trip.
